Reasons I must have a plan.
The one thing I don't want to have to do.
I do not want to rent a house. No, I am not a snob. We rented early on in our beginnings and I hated it.
Landlords can be creeps. The last tenant can be a creep. That last tenant could be a drug dealer and statistics show that children do well in homes and not in apartments. I am not saying that children are somehow damaged by renting. I want something of my own. After all, that is the American dream. Now if push came to shove I might be willing if things get even worse here at our current location.
In some cases renting is ideal. You have less cost in maintenance issues that can arise. I intend to make up for lost time...I know exactly what I am after and what it is we need. Time to do the things the right way. Get ready for a full scale plan. Failure is not an option. I don't want to go running off in the night. Reverse engineering. The only way to get this to work is to not ignore it and hope and cry any longer.
There are many ready made plans for Finance and Family Budgeting. My plan may not match any of what is currently out there in bookstores or online. But I see a combination working for us. The first goal is to see the vision for the future clearly. Time to put a vision board in action. People have a higher chance of success if they define their goals clearly. I also plan to have meetings to keep my family in the know. A shark tank meeting.
So the first three things are:
1. Vision Board ( see the goal, eye on the prize, jogging like Rocky Balboa)
2. Track spending. ( the Titanic seemingly was sunk by a HUGE iceberg, nope, lots of tiny leaks caused by faulty slag metals and cheap rivets. Tiny holes not a huge gash.) Little leaks, sink big ships.
~our biggest leak is food cost, amazon, and office products.~ I am about to raise the Titanic folks.
3. Budget- every single payday. Make a plan. Come up with budget categories. But more on that another time.
