Goals and dreams.
You have to have a dream, how else will you make a dream come true?
If I look at my current house, I see everything I do not want in another one. Even though my State has more than its fair share of Tornadoes I want a one level home. Getting out of this bad area may seem like we need to accept anything that comes our way, but I am not going to suffer just to move away. In the first place, it isn't required. God has seen us through some pretty tough times. It is solely the protection of God that has kept us from danger. I don't want a huge house. Minimum two bathrooms and not made of brick! Brick houses tend to become infested with mold with our continuous rain seasons. It is more like a jungle here now. No basement. I would want a tornado shelter instead. A garage would be nice to house the cars. I don't like HOA. Homes too close together are not ideal and yet not out in the middle of no where would be nice.
If I could have anything, I would move from this Country all together. Not because I do not love the US but because I have raised my children with a proper UK education and I love the UK. This is not likely to happen. The UK has strict rules to get in and I am not going to waste my time trying to jump the pond. The hard part is the sticker shock of any place that is "safe". It will cost more. Our current house payment is just under five hundred dollars a month! Rent prices in our same area are 862.00 monthly. Rent in better areas rest just under and up to 1800.00 -1500.00 monthly. It is good to be in real estate.
In my studying this entire State, most areas have a possibility to fall prey to the same evils that plague this once thriving city. I have to be very careful. Truthfully, that is one of the reasons that I have been slow to act. This isn't something I could live through again. Other people who left and tore out of this city moved to locations not too far away. Some of them are having to move yet again due to more government housing being placed right near housing developments that were not cheap old houses! Sadly, these people will never see a paid off mortgage and will continue to run the rest of their lives.
Because as I said before, todays high class apartment complexes are tomorrows ghettos.
So much study has to go into this. When people ask when are we moving, my question is WHERE?
In these days with rioting and looting and government towns turning a blind eye, are you sure you are where you want to be?
