Why be angry at all?

Because we did everything "right" the first time.

When you get down to the nitty gritty of our dilemma it can be summed up like this: We did everything right.

1. We bought the exact amount of house we could AFFORD. I made sure our house payment could be covered with only one paycheck. Roughly 1/4 of our take home pay.  25 % which is recommended.

2. We bought in a neighborhood that we knew well. In fact I grew up across the street from our current home.

But, the main thing we did WRONG?

1. We didn't plan for the future nor did we see the signs of a town going DOWN. ( which I will share below)
2. We didn't do the right thing by our home. We didn't invest or update. This is also a good thing since some houses at one time were selling for 3,550.00 dollars. Yes, a WHOLE house.

*signs your area is going down or could go to slums. But not limited to these things.
1. used car lots
2. title loan ( a product only aimed at the poor)
3. being poor or low income area example in 1996 our local schools became title 1 funded due to most of the children being raised by grandparents.
4. being poor is not terrible or can be helped by some, being a low-life criminal is terrible.
5. Too many rental homes or apartments. Remember the luxury apartments of today are tomorrows slums
6. Too many fast food stores. If you live near a fast food alley, trouble comes. Mark my words.
7. Pawn Shops. You don't have to believe me.
8. A stagnant city government with the same lack of leadership early on.

But enough of the negative stuff! Let's get to the good ideas!!!!!!
